We are excited to launch The Leyna Fund for low-income families who are struggling to spay their female dog.
GOAL: With the help of generous donors, our goal is to provide one spay per month to a low-income family who is not able to afford a spay but is providing a safe and loving home environment for a female dog.
We here at Deacon’s Hope Rescue struggle daily with the overpopulation of dogs and the various health issues surrounding female dogs. We are of the firm belief that all dogs should be spayed and neutered to help combat the continuously growing overpopulation of dogs. We would like to tackle part of this problem by spaying one female dog per month as long as funds are available.
BENEFITS: Spaying your female dog will reduce unwanted pregnancies, ovarian cancer and, serious health issues like deadly pyometra.
PURPOSE: The fund has been created in memory of Leyna who recently and needlessly lost her life to pyometra because she was not treated immediately by her neglectful owners. Our rescue incurred medical bills over $2,000 in an effort to save Leyna’s life. Not only was this a financial burden for the rescue, it was devastating to all of us at DHR. It was senseless and cruel what Leyna endured in her short lifespan. All of which could have been prevented by a simple medical procedure.
Participants must be able to utilize one of our vets in Toledo or Delaware, Ohio. We will post info on how to participate in our program once we have collected enough funds for our first donated spay.
We will begin collecting donations for this fund immediately and hope to schedule our first spay in October, 2020.
If you would like to make a tax deductible donation, please donate to the Facebook link or through PayPal. Please be sure to put Leyna Fund in the memo section when using PayPal.
If you would prefer to donate by check, please message us.
Should this fund grow, we will be able to help more low-income families who are providing safe and loving homes to dogs in need.
Thank you in advance for your donation. https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/DeaconsHope
